Philips BDP3000 Blu Ray Player

Looking at the different Blu Ray players on the market there are a lot of models to choose from but the majority can carry quite a high price tag. However the Philips BDP3000/05 Blu Ray player with a RRP of £180 and an even lower price online does look to break the mould.

Some of the very advanced features found on the more expensive players are missing. However the Philips BDP3000/05 has all the major ones needed and looks to be a great choice if you’re starting off in Blu Ray.

Firstly if you are looking to replace your existing DVD player the Philips BDP3000 blu ray player will play all your old DVDs. This means you don’t need to make space for two separate players in your cabinet.

Philips Blu Ray Player Quality

This Philips BDP3000/05 will play blu ray discs in the full 1080p high definition picture quality as well as 24 frames per second cinema like image. This is just as good as many of the major players on the market and one of the main reasons for buying a player.

To back this up the Philips BDP3000/05 will also send through true dolby HD quality sound as well.

Philips BD Live Ready

Quite surprisingly for the price the Philips BDP3000/05 blu ray player is also BD live ready as well. This is where you can access extra content online that movie companies make available after the film is released.

To access this feature the Philips BDP3000/05 needs 1GB USB stick plugged into the back.

Philips BDP3000 Style

Last but not least the look of the Philips BDP3000/05 is minimalist and with the rounded corners very stylish. In fact this blu ray player looks just as good as some of the highest spec payers on the market today.

This player is absolutely pure rubbish – DO NOT buy this load of junk, I warn you. Picture quality is unbearable – a scratchy and distorted look as well huge amounts of blurry edges and colour bleeding. I have tried and tried since I bought it back in Sept 2009, to get a clear and lush picture, however, the player seems incapable of presenting this. The amount of settings I have changed to get a decent picture is unbelieveable. What’s more – the audio is OUT OF SYNC ! This really got on my nerves as well as the poor DVD upscaling. YouTube videos look better than this, for goodness sake ! After all the Blu-ray movies I purchased ready for the player – What a waste of money. A huge let down.

So I would suggest NOT to purchase this heap of poo. One of the worst Blu-ray Players out there – FACT.
